Position Description

The Pathways Recent Graduates (RG) Program is a fantastic opportunity for those who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. This program provides individuals with developmental experiences in the Federal Government, offering professional development and training while allowing participants to explore career paths in public service.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

Key details about the program:

  • Eligibility: To qualify, applicants must apply within two years of completing their degree or certificate (with exceptions for veterans, who have up to six years to apply). The program is open to individuals from associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate programs.
  • Program Duration: The program lasts for one year, with participants receiving valuable on-the-job training and mentorship. Successful completion of the program can lead to non-competitive conversion to a permanent or term position in the federal government.
  • Career Advancement: Participants receive an Individual Development Plan (IDP) to help guide their career growth, and they are provided with opportunities for formal training and mentorship. Upon program completion, graduates may be eligible for a full-time government role, helping build long-term careers in public service.
